-

-

-
Build traffic through Search Engine Optimization.
It is important to understand how popular your target niche market will be before you build your niche blog. Glen recommends researching your keyword phrase ideas using tools such as Google Adwords Keyword Tool, Google Trends, and the search feature on Twitter. These are both free. You should pick topics that you feel comfortable promoting and discussing on your site long-term. Even though a topic may be popular, you might not be interested in the topic 3 years down the road. Prevent yourself from dropping the ball- choose something you are passionate about, something you may fear, or something you believe is a common problem.
When picking your niche site topic, you will want to consider what products are already available to promote on your website. If you are unable to find a good range of products, you may have to create something from scratch. If this is something you feel motivated to do, that’s great! By creating your own products, you will earn 100% back. Ebooks are an easy item that you can create.
One of the most helpful tips that Glen provided on his Podcast interview with Pat of Smart Passive Income was using a search feature on Yahoo! for determining backlinks to sites. If you go to Yahoo.com and type the word “Link” followed by a colon and the URL of the site you’re researching, you can get a list of sites that have linked to that site.
Below you can see that I searched for cedgeshtml.com’s backlinks.
This is useful so that you can see what directories or websites are listing the sites of your competitors. It’s also a useful way to see which websites allow comments to be used as backlinks. (Just because you leave a link in the comments section of a site, it might not improve your Google Page Rank.)
